Call for Natural Resource Assistance Council Nominations

The District One Natural Resources Assistance Council (NRAC) is a working committee responsible for recommending projects for funds made available to Cuyahoga County (District One) through the Ohio Public Works Commission Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Program.

The District One Public Works Integrating Committee (DOPWIC) is seeking nominations to fill four seats for the District One NRAC, as defined in Section 164.21 (A) of the Ohio Revised Code.  Each position will serve a three-year term from 10/15/2025 to 10/14/2028, unless a new appointment is completing an existing term of an NRAC member who has vacated mid-term. Members of the District One NRAC volunteer their services and are not compensated. The DOPWIC will appoint NRAC members at their next meeting on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

Environmental Representatives

District One is seeking two (2) representatives, one for a full three (3) year term, and one to complete the remaining two-year term of an existing appointment (ending 10/14/2027). Anyone interested in being considered for the NRAC Environmental Representative must represent an agency that falls within the following group:

  • A conservation organization, an environmental advocacy organization, an organization with a primary interest in watershed protection and restoration, such as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Ohio or United States Environmental Protection Agency, or the United States Natural Resources Conservation Service;

Parks Representatives

District One is seeking two (2) representatives for the next three (3) year term. Anyone interested in being considered for the NRAC Parks Representative must represent an agency that falls within the following group:

  • A city park system or metropolitan park system or a board of park commissioners located within Cuyahoga County, a statewide parks and recreation organization, or the U.S. national park service.

Please submit a nomination form, a letter of nomination from a recognized entity and a statement of the nominee’s background and qualifications via email to both the District Liaison and Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) Program Representative.
