Our County is a Data Book that features information about Cuyahoga County and 10 peer counties across the region. It includes statistics on demographics, the economy, workforce, housing, transportation, and the environment.
2023 Data Book
Our County: The 2023 Data Book is our first data book that provides insights at the county level. It is intended to be used by local governments, community organizations, and others interested in learning more about our county.
The Data Book covers 50 indicators in six categories: demographics, the economy, workforce, housing, transportation, and the environment. Every indicator has data for a recent year and most show change over time.
Peer Counties
The Data Book includes information about Cuyahoga County and 10 selected peer counties in the Midwest. The peer counties were chosen based on their proximity to Cuyahoga County and their size. The peer counties (and their core cities) selected for analysis are:
- Allegheny County (Pittsburgh, PA)
- Erie County (Buffalo, NY)
- Franklin County (Columbus, OH)
- Hamilton County (Cincinnati, OH)
- Hennepin County (Minneapolis, MN)
- Jefferson County (Louisville, KY)
- Marion County (Indianapolis, IN)
- Milwaukee County (Milwaukee, WI)
- Monroe County (Rochester, NY)
- Wayne County (Detroit, MI)

The Data Books generally use information collected and shared by external sources, and the data source for each metric is listed on the appropriate page. The goal of the document is to provide only the most relevant and accurate data available; however, we have not independently verified the information.
