2026 Data Book

Cover of Our County 2026Our County 2026 provides insights at the county level. It is intended to be used by local governments, community organizations, and others interested in learning more about Cuyahoga County and how it relates to its peer counties.

The Data Book covers 63 indicators in six categories: demographics, the economy, housing, the environment, transportation, and health. Every indicator has data for a recent year and most show change over time.

Peer Counties

The Data Book includes information about Cuyahoga County and 10 selected peer counties in the Midwest. The peer counties were chosen based on their proximity, their population size, and the presence of a core city. The peer counties (and their core cities) selected for analysis are:

  • Allegheny County (Pittsburgh, PA)
  • Erie County (Buffalo, NY)
  • Franklin County (Columbus, OH)
  • Hamilton County (Cincinnati, OH)
  • Hennepin County (Minneapolis, MN)
  • Jefferson County (Louisville, KY)
  • Marion County (Indianapolis, IN)
  • Milwaukee County (Milwaukee, WI)
  • Monroe County (Rochester, NY)
  • Wayne County (Detroit, MI)

Data Accuracy

The Data Books generally use information collected and shared by external sources, and the data source for each metric is listed on the appropriate page. The goal of the document is to provide only the most relevant and accurate data available; however, we have not independently verified the information.
