Mayor, City of Brook Park
Mike Gammella started on the assembly line at the Ford Motor Co. at age 19. He served as a full-time union representative with the United Autoworkers consecutively for 36 years in Cleveland, including President of the UAW Local 1250. During this time, he served as a Councilman and Council President in the City of Brook Park. He was very involved with his wife Shirley in the raising, education and childcare of their 3 children. In 2014 he was promoted to Detroit where he worked at the UAW-Ford National Program Center as an international representative on special assignment. In 2017 he was elected Mayor of the City of Brook Park. Mike makes it a point to read a book a week and has done so since 1980. He has been involved in the community with numerous charities over the years.
