MINUTES OF THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

June 9, 2016

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission (CCPC) was called to order by Mr. Kelly with a quorum present. Mr. Kelly announced that the Solid Waste Policy Committee Report had been tabled until the next meeting so that there would be more time for discussion about the Report, which included the Annual Solid Waste Report.

MINUTES
On a motion by Councilperson Brown, seconded by Councilperson Simon, the minutes of the April 14, 2016 meeting were unanimously approved.

RESOLUTIONS – CONTRACTS OVER $5,000.00
On a motion by Councilperson Simon, seconded by Mayor Infeld, Resolution No.160609-A, approving a Professional Planning Services Agreement with the City of Euclid to prepare a Community Survey for $16,000.00, was unanimously approved.

On a motion by Councilperson Simon, seconded by Mayor Patton, Resolution No. 160609-B, approving a Contract with the City of Rocky River to prepare a Community Survey for $16,000.00, was unanimously approved.

Mr. Kelly noted the arrival of Mayor Sellers.

On a motion by Councilperson Simon, seconded by Mayor Sellers, Resolution No. 160609-C, approving a contract with the City of East Cleveland to assist in the preparation of the FY2017-2019 HUD Consolidated Plan for $27,650.00, was unanimously approved.

On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mayor Byrne, Resolution No. 160609-D approving a Contract with R.P. Stephenson & Associates to develop a Scoring Application for the District One Public Works Integrating Committee in the amount of $13,000.00, was unanimously approved.

CHAIR’S REPORT

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr. Coyne introduced the two new interns that would be working for County Planning during the summer: Mr. Charles Hogan, a co-op student from the University of Cincinnati, and Ms. Amelia Visnauskas, a student from Cornell University who was participating in the Summer on the Cuyahoga program.

Ms. Karaffa provided an update on the 2016 budget.

Mr. Coyne reported that the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) had awarded the County Planning’s Transportation for Livable Communities (TLCI) project, Cuyahoga Greenway Plan, a grant of $125,000.00. Mr. Coyne reported that he intended to provide the remaining funds for the project, approximately $125,000.00, from an old Cuyahoga Valley Initiative (CVI) account.

OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Coyne reported that the Final Plat for Galway Bay Subdivision (Phase 2) in Olmsted Township was still tabled because all of the required approvals had not yet been secured.

NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Kelly announced that the next meeting will be held on August 11, 2016 at 2:00p.m. in Room 4-407.

On a motion by Mayor Sellers, seconded by Councilperson Brown, the meeting was adjourned.
