MINUTES OF THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

August 10, 2017 

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission (County Planning) was called to order by Mr. Kelly and the roll call showed a quorum was present.

MINUTES
On a motion by Councilperson Brown, seconded by Mayor DiCicco, the minutes of the June 8, 2017 meeting was unanimously approved.

RESOLUTIONS
On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mayor Bobst, Resolution 170810-A, approval of a Planning Services Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Department of Development to provide technical assistance related to HUD and US EPA funding, was unanimously approved.

Mayor Infeld and Mayor Sellers arrived.

Trustee Jeanene Kress and Trustee Lisa Zver from Olmsted Township spoke about the zoning and land development needs of the Township and expressed their appreciation for the support that Meghan Chaney delivers. On a motion by Councilperson Brown, seconded by Mayor Byrne, Resolution 170810-B, approval of a Contract with Consultant Meghan Chaney to continue to provide Technical Assistance to the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission and Olmsted Township, was unanimously approved.

On a motion by Mayor Procuk, seconded by Mayor Sellers, Resolution 170810-C, approval of the Draft 2018 Budget Proposal was tabled for a later date.

CHAIR’S REPORT
Mr. Kelly welcomed Mayor Procuk for his reappointment through 2020 and thanked him for his service on the board.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr. Coyne pointed out the dates on the flyer included in the packet outlining the District One Grant Funding Workshops for 2018 that include both The State Capital Improvement Program and the Clean Ohio Green Space conservation Program.

Parsons Brinckerhoff changed their name to WSP and County Planning executed a contract extension with WSP for the TLCI Northfield-Warrensville Multi-Modal Connectivity Plan with no additional funds.

City of Lakewood Planning Services Agreement contract extension is being negotiated for an additional year.

Cuyahoga County Climate Change Action Plan and grant request by the Department of Sustainability was described by James Sonnhalter for information.

Presentation: Rose Simmons, US Census Bureau.
Ms. Simmons presented valuable information on preparations for the 2020 US Census and answered questions from the board

With there being no old business, or new business, Councilperson Brown motioned to adjourn the meeting, the motion was seconded by Mayor Bobst.
